Firearm Safety Tips
Whether you have firearms in your home or you don't it is a good idea to practice firearm safety with your children because they might find one in a friends home or even in a park, on the street, in a bush. You never know what dangers lurk just around the corner. It is always best to be safe the sorry. I think it is very important to teach your children about firearms at a young age as they are very curious as a young child.
The best way to teach your child about Firearm Safety according to the NRA
(National Rifle Association):
IF YOU SEE A GUN:
Don't touch it!
Leave the area!
Tell an Adult!
I would suggest even getting "Learn Gun Safety with Eddie Eagle" this is a great video that can be purchased off of the NRA website at the following link for only $9.95 (at the time of this post). http://www.nrahq.org/safety/eddie/ just scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the video.
Parents you should also check out the information at:
this has great information about parent safety tips to re-enforce your children's safety.
If you as a Parent/Guardian do own a firearm it is very important to lock up your firearms at all times to ensure that your child or their friends do not get into it.
I have a couple video's here that I want you to watch and both will teach us all a little bit. The first one is an officer teaching us about kid safety and the other one is a youtube star (hickok45) about guns having a good message about locking up guns and the different ways we can do it safely. Please take a minute to view these video's as I honestly believe both of these are very beneficial and very true to our child's safety.
Again if you have any questions, comments or concerns please let me know. I would be more then happy to help as much as I can.
